The Absolute and the Relative

“It is of the utmost importance in the study of the Bible and the Christian Science text-book, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mrs. Eddy, that clear distinction be made between those statements which are absolute in their meaning, which express the spiritual fact, and those which are relative, which express the human sense, the material point of view…”

The Absolute and the Relative

Contempt for women is also contempt for God * Frauenverachtung ist auch Gottesverachtung

Any ideology or religion or society in which contempt for women is inherent also includes contempt for man for it necessitates man to be capable of contempt.

Contempt for women is contempt for both genders. In other words: contempt for mankind.

Thus, contempt for women is also contempt for God for it disagrees with God’s image and likeness of mankind, namely the inherent equality of man and woman.

The acceptable year of the Lord * Ein angenehmes Jahr des Herrn

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord … This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”

(from: The Gospel according to Luke, chapter 4)

“Der Geist des Herrn ist auf mir, weil er mich gesalbt hat, den Armen das Evangelium zu verkündigen; er hat mich gesandt, die zerbrochenen Herzens sind zu heilen, Gefangenen Befreiung zu verkünden und den Blinden, dass sie wieder sehen, Zerschlagene in Freiheit zu entlassen, und ein angenehmes Jahr des Herrn auszurufen … Heute ist diese Schrift vor euren Ohren erfüllt.”
